This is a super simple DIY on how to make your own deodorant! Yes, you read that right. Home made deodorant, with just a few ingredients that you probably already have in your home right now! How much do you spend on a stick of deodorant? They range anywhere from $2 to $10 each. Well, with this recipe, it will cost you just pennies!
Plus, this is a SAFE deodorant. Have you read all the reports about deodorant being linked to breast cancer?
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 Tablespoon AND 1 Teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/4 cup Coconut oil (this is VERY good for your skin!)
- 2 Tablespoons of corn starch
- 20-25 drops of your favorite essential oil scent (unless you want this unscented, then leave this out)
- a container to put it in
First, find your container. This can be a small airtight container, or you can do what I did, and clean out an old deodorant container! The labels peeled right off, and the top popped right off, so I was able to clean it inside & out with ease.
If using an old deodorant container, clean it out and turn the knob repeatedly until the center thingy is all the way at the bottom.
You won’t be able to fill it if it’s not turned down.
In a small bowl (or your airtight container you will use to store it in), mix all of the above ingredients. Then just store the deodorant in that and scoop it out when you need it, or you can fill an old deodorant container with the deodorant! That’s what I did, and it works great!
When you are done, you have your own home made deodorant.
Now how easy was that?
