DIY: Melt crayon pieces to make larger crayons!

cray1

How many times have you seen little pieces of crayons left over and thrown them away?

If you throw out those crayon bits, you are wasting them!

Use those little pieces to make larger crayon disks, or crayons in any shape you like!

Just grab your crayon pieces, and a mold.  I’m just using a basic silicon cupcake mold.

If your pieces are already broken into small little pieces, just place them in your mold. If they are too large, just break them down.

Fill your molds like this, and you can keep same colors together, or mix them up for fun crayon colors!

Bake them in the oven at 220º for about 30 minutes, or until melted.

OR – you can melt the crayons first, and then pour them into your molds.

Let them cool (I placed mine in the freezer for a few minutes because I’m too impatient!) and then pop them out of your molds.

Voila!  You now have crayon disks, or crayons in whatever mold shape you used!

No more wasted crayons!
